Assessing bisphenols migration
Congratulation to Professor Fiorella Lucarini who just published a new paper in Chemosphere (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chemosphere.2025.144772).
The focused on the presence and migration of bisphenols in children’s products available on the Swiss market. The study examined 162 toys and childcare items and evaluated how these chemicals can migrate under realistic mouth-contact conditions. The findings highlight that several commonly used products can release bisphenols, underscoring the importance of monitoring materials that come into direct contact with infants and young children. This work contributes valuable data for improving product safety, guiding regulatory decisions, and supporting the development of safer materials for children.
